Read about Grind Types

We have recently adjusted our grind options. With that in mind, we wanted to offer this primer so that you can choose the best grind-style for your preferred brewing method.

Whole Bean-- While we are happy to grind your beans, your coffee will stay fresher longer if you grind it as you go. There are many great home grinder options out there and many are surprisingly inexpensive.

Drip-- This is a medium grind that is the most versatile. Brewing methods using drip include home coffee drip machines, pour-overs (like Hario), Chemex, and AeroPress.

Espresso-- This grind is generally used for espresso makers. This includes home machines and stove-tip espresso pots. The grind is the most fine and is optimized to work with a high pressure extraction system.

Coarse-- Coarse is for percolators, french press, cold brewing, and sometimes AeroPress. Coarse is the biggest/loosest grind and enables water to move more freely steeping coffee for extraction.

All of the above, while generally true in the industry, also should be adjusted for preference. Feel free to experiment and please contact us if you have questions and we will be happy to work with you.

Product Overview

This excellent Central American coffee features notes of fruit, toasted coconut, caramel. It comes to us from one of our oldest and closest relationships in the country that started it all for Café Campesino. APECAFORM (the Maya-Mam Association of Smallholder Organic Coffee Farmers) was established in 1992, with aid from the Catholic diocese in Guatemala, as part of an initiative to support the development of local, small-scale coffee farmers. Today APECAFORM is comprised of some 400 members, spread over 17 communities. APECAFORM members are 100% small-scale farmers upholding their Mayan roots, including deep respect for the land and holistic and organic farming practices, and preserving traditional culture and language. The majority of their members speak Mam, one of more than 20 languages spoken in Guatemala.

    Great Coffee!

We love Cafe Campesino coffees! I was not a coffee drinker until I started buying these coffees. Now, I am hooked and cannot live without them! The flavors are so smooth. Not bitter like I had always experienced with coffee in the past.

    Great morning coffee

I bought this coffee because I was wanting a morning cup that I could drink without cream or sugar and it hit the spot- great with my french press.

    Fantastic!!!

I am so delighted every time this coffee is delivered to my house! I first got a taste of Cafe Campesino while working in Americus at Center Stage Market (which sadly no longer exists). I have loved this coffee and this company ever since, and continue to enjoy it at home every single morning!

Great for making cold brew, ready to drink or concentrate. I also use it for hot pour-over and iced coffee. I do wish they would list the variety used in each roast.
