Coffee Eggnog

A tasty treat — just in time for the holidays!
6 eggs, separated
1 cup powdered sugar
1 quart half and half
4 cups very strong black Café Campesino coffee -- ice cold
2 cups light rum (if desired)
1 cup brandy (if desired)
2 cups heavy or whipping cream
nutmeg and cinnamon as desired

Beat the egg yolks until thick and lemon colored. Beat in powdered sugar. Add half & half and coffee. Add salt, if desired. Mix well in a punch bowl. Add rum and brandy (if desired).

Beat egg whites to form soft peaks. Whip the cream and gently fold into the egg whites. Pour the mixture into a punch bowl. Sprinkle with nutmeg and cinnamon.
