Koinonia Farm was started in 1942 about 8 miles outside of Americus by Clarence and Florence Jordan. It was an "experiment in the Kingdom of God" where blacks and whites lived and worked together and were treated as equals in the rural, segregated South. Koinonia has inspired a number of entities across the country including Habitat for Humanity, which was created by Millard Fuller, who lived and worked on Koinonia for many years; Jubilee Partners, an intentional farm near Athens and yours truly, Cafe Campesino. Today, Koinonia celebrates 70 years, and to celebrate Koinonia, we have created the Koinonia Blend, a medium-bodied coffee with a fruity, sweet aroma and flavor and nutty fragrance. It is a blend of Mexico Full City Roast and Sumatra Viennese Roast coffee.
